Because of its excellent heat conductivity and capacity, the Heat Sink Pad is useable on adjacent components e.g. to avoid them exceeding the melting point in a rework process.
The Heat Sink Pad can be easily cut to the desired shape using a knife and then placed onto the target component without an air gap. To prevent the Heat Sink Pad from overheating it has to be covered by aluminium heat shielding tape (0IR4500-40).
